As a wedding photographer, I get to experience so many unique and special moments, and it is truly an honour to be asked to help couples capture memories that will last a lifetime. When Charlie and Phil asked me to photograph their vintage-inspired wedding, I couldn’t wait to get started and capture some of the incredible moments and gorgeous vintage touches they had planned for the day!
The beautiful wedding, although impacted by some restrictions in 2021, was an occasion of joy and laughter. As well as the gorgeous couple, it was a true celebration of decades of tried and tested wedding staples that come back time and time again – and for good reason! Charlie and Phil’s vintage style was well suited to the gorgeous florals and greenery they used throughout the day, and it really made some of those gorgeous vintage touches shine – like the gorgeous bride’s incredible dress and veil!
Capturing the morning with Charlie was a pleasure. With so many smiling faces and so much laughter, photographing these candid moments with loved ones is an amazing part of the day to remember. Getting ready for the ceremony is a special time. You are surrounded by family and friends, there are nerves and excitement, and there are some incredible and sometimes unexpected moments that can be captured throughout the whole morning. Your wedding day can zoom by, so having some of these small memories in photo form can be really special.
Charlie wore a beautiful vintage wedding dress that was eighty years old, and her veil was 34 years old as it was belong to Charlie mother's l! and it was beautiful to see how so much style from decades past was so key to the styling of this gorgeous bride. Along with these touches, Charlie wore some glitzy vintage jewellery that complimented the gorgeous gown and was stunning to photograph. The antique ring, I photographed on the tulips is over 100 years and that was belongs to Charlie Great Grandma's
I was very fortunate to be able to photograph this stylish pair as they got ready and added those finishing touches before heading to the ceremony where their family and friends were waiting to witness this special occasion.
When it came to walking down the aisle, the smiles on the faces of both the bride and groom were electric. What an amazing moment it was to capture as they exchanged words and walked back down the aisle hand in hand, ready to celebrate their future together.
Next was the turn of the reception, where lush greenery, flowers and classic decor were everywhere. Beautiful decor captured in the background and snaps of small details really helps eternalise the atmosphere and memories created at a wedding reception, especially one as stylish as Charlie and Phil’s.
